We would like to present you Quarantine’s Open Studio, an new option for you free spirits that want soak up knowledge from all of our mentors and then put it on canvas at your own pace.

What does Open Studio offer?

The mental state is identical to Muse Hacking, as are the rules.
Those selected for Open Studio will share all the masterclasses and open talks with ALL the guest mentors, as well as leisure time, meals and breaks with participants from both formats.
Access to a fully equipped studio, with live models and a qualified assistant, so you can put into brushstrokes everything you’ve discovered during the open talks.

What doesn’t Open Studio include?

Mentorship, boot camp and workshop with one of the guest artists.

OK, we know you’d be excited to have access to a mentor’s direct guidance… but there is good news here; there is a glowing silver lining, the PRICE of Open Studio. Take a look!

Program

Emilio proposes fusing your immediate surroundings and your painting, without prior sketching nor any predetermined composition; directly and without trial, with no intent of getting it right or producing beautiful paintings.

It doesn’t matter if the end result is a figurative or abstract piece, or both at once. What matters is that your work resounds with the environment in a genuine and direct manner.

Difficulty

Mindset — This quarantine requires a high level of detachment from the most deeply-rooted tendencies of the painting practice: the quest for a beautiful result and the craving to display what you do well.

Technical requirements — Basic oil painting skills.

Requirements

Be open to recognizing that you may be painting for the wrong reasons, due in large part to an erroneous reward system.
Be wary of external influences so as to be your own influence, looking into yourself through painting.
Accept that beauty is found in the very risk of the process, not in controlling the results.

Quarantine days: You’ll get quarantined +12 hours per day, 7 days, on a private island.
Participants: 18 max. in the studio. 120 max. in the conference room
Quarantine days: 7 days. 12h per day (yes, there will be breaks)
Technical requirements: basic painting (oil, acrylic, etc.) and drawing skills
Language: English
Location: Lazaretto Island, Maó, Menorca (Spain)
Activities: open studio with live model (6 hours a day), art talks and masterclasses with guest artists
